The Tigers battled back from an early deficit to win 7-6, with Colt Keith’s two-run homer in the fifth inning and a clutch RBI single from Matt Vierling in the sixth leading the way. Reese Olson struggled early, allowing four runs in just 2.1 innings, but the bullpen held steady, with Brenan Hanifee securing his first win and Jason Foley grabbing his 24th save. Matt Vierling was a standout performer, going 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Bobby Witt Jr. was a bright spot for the Royals, driving in five runs with a homerun and a single. Despite a robust start from Seth Lugo, who pitched 4.2 innings with four strikeouts, the Royals couldn’t maintain their early lead as their bullpen faltered. With this win, the Tigers improve their road record and continue to push for a strong finish to the season.
